Who We Are

Gastrade S.A. was founded in 2010 with a clear mission to design, develop, and operate modern natural gas infrastructure, guided by safety, reliability, and respect for the environment and society.

We are the first company in Greece to obtain an Independent Natural Gas System License, reflecting our leading role in the transformation of the national energy sector and our long-term commitment to strengthening energy security and market development.

At a time when floating LNG infrastructure was still an emerging concept globally, we initiated the development of the Alexandroupolis FSRU, helping shape the regulatory and operational framework that contributed to the broader development of FSRU infrastructure across Europe in the years that followed.

Today, with a strategic focus on supply security, diversification of energy sources, and regional interconnectivity, we continue to contribute to a more resilient and sustainable energy landscape for Greece and Southeastern Europe.

What We Do

We build energy infrastructure designed for long-term regional impact.

Since October 2024, we have been operating the Alexandroupolis Independent Natural Gas System, one of the most significant energy infrastructure projects in Southeastern Europe.

The project establishes a new energy gateway for the region, providing access to diversified and reliable energy supply sources and routes, while strengthening energy security and affordability across Southeast and Central Europe.

In parallel, we are advancing the development of additional energy infrastructure that will further strengthen system capacity, flexibility, and regional resilience.

We are also a key participant in the European Vertical Gas Corridor initiative, supporting the uninterrupted flow of natural gas from Greece toward Southeastern and Central European markets, and contributing to energy security, affordability, and regional cooperation.

Management

Konstantinos Sifnaios is the Managing Director of Gastrade S.A., with more than 30 years of experience in the international oil, gas, and energy infrastructure sectors. Over the course of his career, he has held senior commercial and strategic roles at leading energy companies, including Mobil Oil, BP, and the Copelouzos Group, building extensive expertise in natural gas supply and trading, energy markets, and large-scale infrastructure development across Europe. He has contributed to major corporate transformation initiatives, including BP’s European restructuring programme, while leading commercial strategy and energy portfolio development across the natural gas value chain. Prior to joining Gastrade, he served as Group Energy Director for the natural gas business of the Copelouzos Group, where he was responsible for strategic project development and commercial activities in the sector. Since 2022, following the Final Investment Decision for the Alexandroupolis LNG Terminal Project, he has led Gastrade S.A. through the development and operation of one of Southeastern Europe’s most strategic LNG infrastructure assets.
